Browse All TopicsIn SMS 2003 Capture an image was just to build the machine, install the Advanced client to set up the SMS site, make the Capture CD with the necessary drivers and load it on the image machine configuring the settings and restart the machine and it will capture without a problem.
Deploying was even easier as you would just create the installation CD with the distribution points and drivers, boot the machine with the this CD and it would pull down the image from the network on to the new machine.
Now i am using SCCM 2007 and it is not as easy as i thought. Or maybe i am missing something. I want to Deploy a fully loaded WIM image to another machine. Without adding it to the collections or anything else. I just want to make the installation CD pop it in and let it download the image.
Same with Capturing, it seems soo complicated just to make a capture CD and load it on the system.
I need some help, does any one know if the ease of Capturing an imaged machine and deploying an image to a new machine is possible the way SMS 2003 did it but in SCCM 2007. Without having it in collections or using PXE? I would just like to use a CD to hook to the distribution point and shoot the image up or down from it to the users PC.
Much thanks
