Poor Pandora, music industry royalties have kept it from being profitable for years and when it finally gets the chance to make money, the New York Stock Exchange proves to be a
disappointing sugar daddy and drops Pandora's share prices into the
tech-IPO hall of shame. Still, this isn't the first time that the media, or even Pandora itself, has
predicted the company's untimely death; and we feel confident that the company formerly known as
The Music Genome Project will
rally round and
keep on rockin' us, baby. But if they don't, we hear there's
money in solar power these days.
And speaking of the ever-benevolent Google gods, they seem to be assuaging their guilt over the
destruction caused by their cuddly little Panda (that
may or may not be striking again) by helping us common folk
manage our online reputation. Sure, you have to do it
using their tools, but if it means getting rid of the
unflattering photos some of us have floating around out there, it could be worth its weight in
job-preserving gold. Then again, we hear those photos are actually
landing people jobs these days.
However, Google isn't the only company "under construction" these days. Apple is
building a spaceship in Cupertino which will reportedly house 12,000 employees and help Steve Jobs phone home or at least
channel the power of The Woz. But wait, there's more: Apple is also
redoing the cube, which, believe it or not, is one of the
most photographed landmarks in the world.
And if tourists' photo fetish with The Cube is not weird enough for you, just check out what
RIM's co-CEOs have been saying. Investors are calling for their removal, but that
doesn't look likely. One thing that has been removed? The
best YouTube video of all time. What day is it now???
