From the ashes of QuickPost rises a monster of a question-answering tool

EE: Where do you live?
Townsville, QLD, Australia.
EE: Describe yourself in four words.
Four words?? I'm hard pressed to think of two! How about… tall, dark, handsome, and rich. No wait — that's for the match-making website. I meant to say friendly, approachable, problematic, and independent.
EE: How has technology impacted your life?
Up until maybe six or seven years ago, I thought technology was for geeks. Then I bought a laptop to prevent boredom in the Gobi desert and discovered that perhaps I'm a geek as well! Have not looked back since.
EE: What is QuickEE and what does it do?
QuickEE is an application that enables the user to quickly and effectively view and answer questions.
EE: Where can one get QuickEE?
http://quickee.dabas.net.au/publish.htm. — For those behind a proxy who are unable to make use of the web install, it can be downloaded from http://quickee.dabas.net.au/QuickEE.zip.
EE: What made you decide to create QuickEE?
Ages ago, when I first started with VB.NET, I built an application, using ameba's QuickPost as the inspiration, mainly to get some VB.NET practice. It wasn't very good, but when EE released the new site, and QP stopped working, there were a number of experts (primarily zepolen) who decided they'd create their own. I threw my offering into the ring, and, before I knew it, I was adding improvements on a daily basis, and more and more experts were using it.
EE: Who has helped you develop QuickEE?

Just about everybody who's posted in the "QuickEE bug reports and updates" questions. I'll list as many as I can, but if I forget somebody, let me know and I'll apologise profusely. :)

Dabas — He provided the free hosting for the download and has added some valuable suggestions along the way.

coral47 — Is just about always the first person to let me know when there's a problem with QuickEE — either of my own doing, or caused by a change to EE. An invaluable debugger.

angelIII — Always ready to suggest a cool addition.

zorvek — So, so many suggestions, not half of which I've been able to implement yet.

…and all those members who've notified me of bugs, offered suggestions, and offered thanks and encouragement: b0lsc0tt, Nightman, hongjun, sirbounty, sjef_bosman, Callandor, byundt, war1, younghv, PeteLong, matthewspatrick, InteraX, and jeverist.

EE: What does the future hold for QuickEE?
Who knows? At the moment, I'm keeping up with all the improvements to EE.
EE: Raster or vector?
Eh? I'll go with vector.
EE: What was unique about being an Expert during 2007?
The new site. It offered its challenges when first released, but now I am more and more impressed.
EE: Remember the prediction that everybody would have his or her own flying car by the year 2000? What do you predict for the future of Experts Exchange? (This way, when it happens, you can tell all your friends, "I called it!")
Hmm. How about voice recognition built into the website? I can talk a lot faster than I can type, and I might start making sense!
EE: What's your favorite beer?
Tooheys New.
EE: How long does it take you to solve a Rubik's Cube?
About three minutes, if I pull the stickers off. :)
