An e-mail whitelist is a list of contacts that the user deems are acceptable to receive email from and should not be sent to the trash folder. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitelist
In order to combat growing amounts of spam, or unwanted advertising e-mail, many e-mail services and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have added features that try to block or filter these unwanted emails. These filters are far from perfect. Sometimes these filters mistake legitimate emails for spam and prevent you from receiving them. Fortunately, you can ensure delivery of e-mails, including correspondence from Experts Exchange, by adding Experts Exchange to your whitelist.
Identify your email client from the following list and follow the instructions to add Experts Exchange to your whitelist and ensure that you're receiving our emails!
For AOL version 9.0: you can ensure that your Experts Exchange emails are delivered to your Inbox by adding our sending address to your "People I Know" list.
Alternatively, you can just send an e-mail to the Experts Exchange "From" address, and that will add us to your "People I Know" list automatically.
The email won't actually be received by anybody, but just the act of sending it does the job of putting Experts Exchange into your "People I Know" list -- and that's what counts.
If you're using an earlier version of AOL, you'll need to set your Mail Controls instead. Here's how:
For AOL version 8.0: Select Allow email from all AOL members, email addresses and domains.
For AOL version 7.0: In the section for "exclusion and inclusion parameters", include the domain: "@experts-exchange.com"
