i am useing aheadnero 5.0.3.5 and i would like to make an exact copy of a cd but i don't know how. the
cd to cd option does not work. I think there may be bad sectors on the cd i want to copy and nero is
ignoring them. How can i make an EXACT copy of a cd?

When i use the cd copy function i get an error about 5% into the burn operation. The error states:

Write to CD failed, MEDIUM ERROR: WRITE ERROR: - LOSS OF STREAMING (3:0x0c:0x09)

Could you please tell me why i recieved this error, and how i can fix this problem? I am useing an internal hp cd-writer 9100 series.

Try to use blindread to dump the cd to your hardisk and then burn it using cdrwin.

when U dump the disk to the hardisk use Cue/bin option for cdrwin

As leonardCrandall said, CloneCD will be your best bet.  Your HP 9100 has all the features that CLoneCD requires to work optimally.  Be sure to read the CD from the HP drive also.  Get a trial at http://www.elby.org/CloneCD/english/ (the real homepage of CloneCD).  I used it the other day to make a duplicate of my Diablo2:LoD CD so I can play at work w/o carrying the CD back and forth, and it worked great on a Plextor 12/10/32 drive.  The Plextor "Disk Dupe 2000" software didn't work even though its supposed to create exact copies.

Your drive may need a firmware update also.  See http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/software/9100_10c.exe.html
Note this won't run under Windows 2000 currently.

I am also trying to burn a copy of Diabl02:LOD I can burn the install disc and the cinematics disc, but the play disc does not work. I fixed the last error i had by creating the image from the HP drive. The CD burns but when i try to play the game with that cd it gives the following error:

Then i am prompted to enter my play disc. I also read that CD-Clone does not support all functions for a hp 9100.

Correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns
= Drive writes regular bit patterns correctly
- = Drive does not write regular bit patterns correctly

Is it possible to fix this problem? If not is there another program that will do this for me?

Thank You
Diablo 2 can not be copied with that version of Nero.  This is also true with Max Payne, Black & White, as well as a few others.  It's a new copy protection that has been developed.  They purposely have 5 or 6 bad sectors in the middle of the disc which, obviously, your CDRW can't recreate and errors out on.

What you need is CloneCD which is free off the net.  Just go to www.google.com and search for it.  It's very easy to use and will ignore the bad sectors.  I've also had luck with Fireburner which operates similliar to Nero.

There is no way for 5.X versions of Nero to copy these discs, you'll only waste time trying.
