Pentiun III on a BX Motherboard

I have a Soyo 6BB board (BX) running a 350 Mhz PII (Slot 1).
The board auto detects CPU voltage.
I would like to fit a 750 MHz PIII, also slot 1, but I believe there is a voltage issue with the 1.6V required.
Is there any way of accomplishing the change ?

According to Soyo, this board can take only 450 and 500 MHz Pentium 3 processors:

Only some BX boards can handle the coppermine cpus, either, celeron or PIII, I managed to get on that will run my celeron 950 @ 1064, and it is a Gigabyte 6BXC pcb rev 2.0, any of these boards before 2.0 could not supply the correct vcore to the cpus

If the Soyo site says that they can only run 450 and 500 it means no Coppermines.

FSB will not be a problem, it will just have to run slower than the standard clock speed.

I scored my board second hand for $25 Australian

I think the only way would be to buy a different board. Ebay may have some cheap ones

Also "750 MHz PIII, also slot 1" how can this be, they stopped making slot one CPUs back around the 400Mhz PII days.  It is probably in a socket-slot convertor.

I hope I can help

Have just invested in an "Old" slot 1 RDRAM board.
The Coppermine processors went up as far as 800 MHz so I don't see any issue there. I will have the system set up shortly when my Rambus memory arrives when all will be revealed!
I guess we have killed off the question so I will ask the moderator to split the points evenly.
Many thanks

You mentioned two experts. I reduced the points to 50, so you can accept one expert's comment as an answer. Please post a 50p question in this TA with a title like :"Points for xxx" and a body "For you rhelp with <URL>".
