Can you downgrade from SP2 to SP1?
How do you go about downgrading Windows 2000 Pro from service pack 2 to service pack 1????
Why would you want to? SP2 is strongly recommended!

Because HP says my Colorado 8 Gig Tape Drive will not work with SP2 but it will work with SP1!
Only way I know is to reload OS with CD. Then load SP1
Scrap the HP drive and get one that works with SP2. SP2 has been out for long enough that HP should have full support for it. Don't buy HP products again in the future.

Is there no way to uninstall SP2 without re-installing Windows 2000?
SP2 is not intended to be uninstalled.
As was already noted, you need to re-install W2K and then re-install SP1.

Jhance, It sure would make things easier on me if the company I'm dealing with would buy another tape drive! But they wouldn't stay in business long if they used your approach. LOL!
I take it you have no idea how to downgrade.

Have you upgraded to IE6 too? Does SP2 appear in Control Panel Add/Remove? See

But all in all, I would agree with jhance - you need to get the right drivers from HP or a new drive and stay with SP2. SP2 affords alot of fixes and upgrades Outlook's ability to block viruses.
If that isn't an option, then reinstall Ops and then SP1

Companies don't have money to throw away and often you have to make the pieces fit. A good consultant knows this.
