Web page truncated when printed
There is a website that is much like Experts-Exchange that displays articles along sideof which are frames where there are ads. Some users on my network (similarly configured units) are able to print out the entire articles without flaw. Most print the articles that are truncated (the bottom of the article is cut off somewhere generally starting on the second page).
Giving the website with a link will not help (so that you may view them for yourselves) as it is user ID and password protected.
I have looked at the computers that can print out the articles OK and compared them with the computers that truncate. I was inclined to say that it is a printer driver issue. However, all the computers are using the same printer driver and version number (so far as the ones I've checked) and on my own computer, I was able to print to one HP4000 on my network and it printed OK, then switched to another HP4000 where it printed it truncated. I then switched the drivers (because one was PCL and the other was PS) and now they both print truncated. When I went to switch the original good printing printer back to its original printer drive, it will no longer print OK... both printers are truncated. My second computer is still printing the articles OK. I give up... can someone make a suggestion as to what I should check next?
By the way, the platform is Windows 2000 as well as some running Windows NT4.

You could try this...
From internet explorer, click on file, page setup and reduce the margins.

I've tried that. thanks... seems like this is a bug in Internet Explorer.
have you tried netscape then?

Yes, what is wierd is that on some PC's, Netscape does the same thing and on others (same version), it does not. It almost seems like it has something to do with the printer driver.
I think you're right about it being the driver - but it is not the driver, it is the settings.
Try the following.
Details, spool settings: Print directly to the printer.
It might also be a good idea to change the printer port to epp (from the bios)
The printer is emptying the queue faster than the PC is filling it.
If you still have problems, change the printer port type to SPP or standard (in the bios)
You can also try ECP for the printer port, but I know from experience not to use this setting because of the problems you mention so that might be what it is at the moment.

You can do that on YOUR machine, but not on anybody ELSE's. So if you're trying to control this from the web page -- not gonna happen.
webwoman, the original question says...
the bottom of the article is cut off somewhere generally starting on the second page.
So this does not sound like a width issue, but an underrun print buffer.

1) set the page in a table, set it as 500-550 px wide. Most letter size printers won't truncate that.
2) have a button to open a new window that does #1. Print from that.
Other than those, there is no fix. It's a web page. It prints how it prints.
