Subweb security

Platform: IIS 5.0 with Frontpage extensions.

We have a site that has restricted users, so that only registered users have browse access. Within this site there is a subweb that uses an anonymous account to get access to another location where the database resides. The problem is when we get to the subweb through the parent web it doesn't use the subweb anonymous account. When we go to the subweb directly it does. Is there anything we can fix to prevent the parent web from blocking access to the subweb. Or is there another way we can keep security without loosing functionality.

I'm sorry I didn't answer before but I had some emergencies. We have a web site X that only our department employees can see, so the permissions are not anonymous, the group G1(our department) has read permission. Then we have a subweb Y under X. Y reads data from a database that is in other server, under the F folder. Which is the right way to put permissions. We have tried everything!!!!!
