File Upload

I have created a form that updates an access database with 10 fields.

At the same time I want to upload a pdf file to the server and create a file tag reference in the database.

I can get both to work seperately on different forms, but not using the same form.

Is there anyway to combine these to fuctions on the same form?

To solve your problem, you can go to www.aspsmart.com to download the aspsmartupload component. This component will allow you to submit form data as well as files at one submission click.

If using IE4+ (works on IE3 too) you can use the <input type=file .. But on the server side you'll need posting acceptor.. read more:

There are bunches of Upload utilities available, some better than others, ASPUpload is in my opinion the best component available for the price.

What I have seen in a lot of the scripts, including the one above, is there is no catch to trap the file type being uploaded, I always check for a type, image/gif or image/pjpeg before I allow the upload to proceed. By looking at uncle_med's code, it looks good, except I would put a file type trap to prevent any problems with rogue hackers...
