MTS-Its necesity

Hi,

I am doing a real time project which involves generating calls from a switch.I need to store these calls into a database for future reference.I am using MTS based databse components which will help me in retrieving the records from the DB. Now, there is a question that there is no need for using MTS for a real time project of this.I need to tell them that we should have MTS for various reasons.Since I really do not know the advantages and disadvantages could all of you give me atleast 2 points in support of using MTS.Also Not supporting of MTS is also welcome.
