Color using ascii escape sequences

It's been a long while since I've needed ascii escape sequences to display color.  I know it can be done but I've lost my color chart.

Could somebody post the ascii escape sequences necessary to put color into text?

I've haven't used ansi escape sequences (sorry about the mistake in the title) since I coded years ago in Turbo C.  I needed some file like ansi.sys which was pulled in by config.sys for dos.  Unix seemed to handle this automatically.

The ANSI.SYS device driver supports ANSI terminal emulation
of escape sequences to control your system's screen and keyboard

and the escape sequences were like
\33[K40 or something similar I just can't remember the exact ansi escape sequences.
