asked on

User defined fonts, for Word i.e. custom win-dings

Is there software available (shareware or free) which would allow me to 'add' a few fonts to a standard TTF file ...

Cheers

A TTF file IS a font -- so no. You can add new fonts to your SYSTEM, and there is software (not cheap and not easy to use) that will let you design fonts, but you don't add a font to a font.

Uhuh.. OK thanks for the comment. I was hoping that I could create a simple short font set (like a few mini wingdings) that suit my application. Harking back to the old days of UDC's on the old home PC's

thanks again

Try e.g. Font Creator available at http://www.zdnet.com/downloads/stories/info/0,,000XRB,.html
There are also lots of other font creators and utilities at ZDNet (http://www.zdnet.com), simply write 'font creator' or 'font utility' in the search box and press enter. I am pretty sure, you'll find what you need.
