Javascript can do a simple pop-up password, but it is easily hacked.
I use an ASP solution on my sites, but your server would need to support ASP.
There are also CGI-bin solutions, and some hosting companies can implement passwords on certain directories if you ask.
So, in order to give you a more specific answer, please tell me the following:
How secure does this have to be?
How many passwords will you need to use?
Does your server support ASP?
