With pure JavaScript? Sounds impossible...
With javascript clientside -> impossible
serverside -> possible..

which one do can you use, or do you want to use.
Where are the folders?

okz .. here's what i want to do ..

i'm trying to do a WYSIWYG editor ...
when i click on the SAVE button, i want to promp the user to type in a name for the document he just created. After that I'll save it. But before saving the document itself, i want to check if the user has inserted any pics in the document. if he has, i want to save the pics in a folder called images.

how do i do that?
