For starters, add SP6a. SP4 is notoriously awful.

Steve
Totally agree with the comment about SP4, its so full of wholes microsoft should have marketed it as a sieve.

Go for SP6a and post your comments on what happened

Sorry - I have the flu.

Steve
seen them crash for no apparent reason, seen them do all sorts of tricks with Citrix. Never seen it restart all by itself. Itself wouldn't be attached to a guy called Bob with a wierd sense of humour and too many rights to the machine.
NT4 TSE is a complete pile of cack (he says, ringing his lawyer....)

I used to have an NT4 TSE Server running Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 that would drop out to a black screen, which then required a power off to escape from it.
No error messages, no Event Log entries......nothing.

But, try these........

1) The obvious...install Windows 2000 TSE.  This one works.
2) Reduce the maximum permissable size of the Event Log to 384Kb.  512Kb or more is the default, and this can crash TSE.  Nice, eh?
3) If you have a Dell server, get the latest firmware and ESM firmware.  It is important.  Also, get the latest NIC drivers, as I believe a load of drivers were released that didn't get on with NT4 TSE/Citrix.
4)But a nice mat.  Pray long and hard on it.

It's time to clean up this topic area and that means taking care of this question. Your options at this point are:

1. Award points to the Expert who provided an answer, or who helped you most. Do this by clicking on the "Accept Comment as Answer" button that lies above and to the right of the appropriate expert's name.

2. PAQ the question because the information might be useful to others, but was not useful to you. To use this option, you must state why the question is no longer useful to you, and the experts need to let me know if they feel that you're being unfair.

3. Delete the question because it is of no value to you or to anyone else.  To use this option, you must state why the question is no longer useful to you, and the experts need to let me know if they feel that you're being unfair.

If you elect for option 2 or 3, all you need to do is post right here as a comment, and I will take care of the rest.  We also request that you review any other open questions you might have and deal with them as necessary.

PLEASE DO NOT AWARD THE POINTS TO ME.

Hi Experts:

In the event that the Asker does not respond, I would very much appreciate your opinions as to which Expert ought to receive points (if any) as a result of this question.  Likewise, you can also suggest that I PAQ or delete the question.

Experts, please do not add further "answer" information to this question.  I will be back in about one week to finalize this question.

Thank you everyone.
