my friend has a problem with his dial-up connection. he can dial-up and logon to the ISP without any problems, but there is no data transfer between his PC and the ISP. there is no response for pings to his IP.
he tried diffrent ISPs and he deinstalled and reinstalled the modem and dial-up connection.
any ideas?
thanx alot.

also check to see if he is using netbios over tcp/ip for the dial up. If so, uncheck it
Is this a server? does he have dns installed on it? If so is this the root server? have him create a forward look up zone to point to his isp's dns
