asked on
sharing to other users
I have a compaq server with win2k server, I create all the users for all the clients(Win 9x).
The thing is that in the server I can see all the users for sharing, and when I want to share something with the clients I can't see the complete list of users, I can see only the cient user name,
For Example:
Server Name = Server1
Domain Name = Domain1
Machine Name = Client1
User Name = User1
Windows Nt Domain = Domain1
Machine Name = Client2
User Name = User2
Windows Nt Domain = Domain1
and when I want that Client1 shares something to Client2 and give some permissions, I couldn't see the other user name I can see only User1 and the domain groups.
How can I solve this for seeing the users.
thanks for your help in advance.

Are you running an AD server or a stand alone?
ASKER
yes I'm running an AD Server
Whenever adding permissions to folders and files, right click and choose properties, then in sharing click on permissions, then add, then click the drop down box at the top and choose the domain name. This will give you a list of all computers and users in the domain. Just double click them to add. This works in the security tab as well. Click add then the drop down box and pick the user and double click to add then you can assign the appropriate permissions.
