You may know or may not that Informatica has pecular repository and methods of change propagations that are not all so "simple" least said.
Informatica is ETL, extraction transformation language, a tool serving wide array of data transformation tasks.
Here I'm trying to facilitate its repository which is basically Informatica's internal database . The problem is that this database is not very easily accessible. There are tools provided by Informatica which cost a lot and not widely used because of that. I'm trying here to show a way around to use the repository.

We have a data warehouse that has tables that contain data that not everyone is allowed to see. to get around this, there are 2 views over the top of the table, one containing all data, one with restricted data and these views are then granted out to the users. select privilege on the underlying table is not granted.
This has issues when using explain plans, it generates ORA-01039 errors, "insufficient privileges on underlying objects of the view".
To get around this, you can use VPD, virtual private database.

Question: How can I remove the ARCHIVELOG buildup below ?
1. ARCHIVELOG always cleaned itself nightly
2. 2014_07_31 has 624 50MB files
3. 2014_08_01 has 97 50MB files
4. 2014_08_02 has 14 50MB files
5. 2014_08_03 has 26 50MB files
Answer: It is likely the backups cleaning them out. If they aren't being cleaned up, something is wrong.
Verify backups have been running.
Check the backup software log files.
Check the alert log.
Something isn't running like it used to be running.

Question: I need to show all the values where DVSN_NM is not null. (Null) shows in the field. I have tried IS NOT NULL and > 0 and < > 0 and nothing seems to work. Please advise. Any ideas appreciated. The column is Characters.
