I'm having problems getting the Microsoft Updates. When I select Start/All Programs/Microsoft Update &nbsp;Internet Explorer 7 starts and checks to see if I have the latest version of the update software. I then get the &quot;Welcome to Microsoft Update&quot; page and I select the 'Express' button. Internet Explorer then checks for the latest updates. When it finds an update I need, I click on the Install button and Internet Explorer freezes and becomes &quot;Not Responding&quot;.<br />

Another funny thing -- all the links on my desktop that point to a website have become inactive and the icons have changed from the Internet Explorer (or Firefox) icon , to a plain web page icon. Nothing happens when I &nbsp;click on any of these link icons on the desktop.<br />

On this computer Internet Explorer seems to freeze on a lot of other web sites also. On my laptop it only seems to freeze when I try to do a Microsoft Update. <br />

I tried re-installing Internet Explorer 7, but that doesn't help.<br />
