How do I remove access to Shell: filesystem commands in Windows 2003?
Hi there.
I have a 'restricted' Windows 2003 system but have found that users can get to special folders using the Shell: commands with windows file explorer. E.g. Shell:Windows brings them to C:\Windows although they wouldn't have been able to get there by typing C:\Windows into the file explorer address bar.
This page http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/shell-commands-to-access-the-special-folders/ mentions the registry area which controls these, but this is specific to Windows 7 & Vista.
Does anybody know how I would remove access to these Shell: commands in 2003? I would prefer a link to a reliable site, a Microsoft site would be best as I have to relay the information and can't really relay a link to somerandomguy.com.
Maybe there is a proper name for these that I could use to google them?
Thanks in advance.
