Weblogic and coherence concepts / help
Hi guys, i am starting on a project using coherence for caching. We already have weblogic 11g (10.3.4.0) all setup and running. Trying to wrap my head around this coherence setup as I never used it before and have a few questions:
1) In weblogic 11, i see options for "Coherence Servers" and "Coherence Clusters". Does this mean if I setup a "Coherence Server" in weblogic, then I do NOT need to install a separate coherence cached server? Basically if i set it up in weblogic, does that mean i am all set with a working coherence cache?
Or is the coherence setup in weblogic merely a point to the actual coherence server that i still need to install/setup separately?
2) What is the difference between the 2 setup options "Coherence Server" & "Coherence clusters" which one should i use to setup a new coherence server running in its own jvm.
3) Can someone please provide a high level step by step on the proper way to get coherence configured on weblogic 11g so the apps (wars/ears) deployed can make use of it in its code.
I search online, there are tons of documents that go into intricate details explaining the settings and theories but nothing on the basic how this whole thing works together.
