printer question
i have this strange event viewer error
printer with shared resource name can not be shared by the print spooler. error 2114
note - i never tried to share this printer
but i see 2 references to it it i params 2 and 3
can you help me ?

Restart the print spooler, fix sharing problems and check Group Policy
To resolve this error, do the following:
Stop and restart the Print Spooler service, and then try again to share the printer.
To start or restart the Print Spooler service, use the following procedure:

With the details you have provided I would say yes I believe it is problem with the network sharing.. Nobus.
couple of things you could try
Add the printer to your anti virus software exceptions and windows firewall exceptions

Davis - it stopped the service - but in the serices section no lan man was to be found, or a stopped service
i then used the start service cmd and an error appeared : invalid service name
oh yes - and i reboot the pc 3x per day

In services, it is listed as the Server service.

when using the stop cmd as admin, i get the correct syntax is net stop server ?

For future reference you need to select the option 'Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers' >>>in Homegroup connections > in Advanced sharing settings.
On My windows 7 32 bit this is here>
Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings
To access this>> open your network icon on the taskbar >opens Network and Sharing Center.
