Symantec BackupExec 2012 Job Queued
Firstly, please forgive my ignorance as I am very new to this version of Backup Exec. I am using Backup Exec 2012 (v14 Rev1798 64-bit), running on Windows 2008 Server R2. My storage device is a Dell PowerVault 124T Autoloader. BE found and configured the storage device with no apparent problems. I was able to import the media, inventory, partition, etc... all with no problems. I then configured 3 backup jobs, 1 backs up files on the local host server, and the other 2 are remote servers on the same network. (I was able to load the remote application on these servers, test credentials, all OK)
My problem is whenever I try to execute a backup job (local or remote), it immediately goes into Status=Queued, Current Operation =BackupScan. The job never runs. However the "Test Run" does complete successfully.
I have restarted the OS, the auto loader, and Symantec BE services in every combination I could imagine, but have the same results. The device is NOT paused, or offline.
I have noticed on the last attempt that quick reference toolbar at the bottom of the BE application shows 2 active jobs, but when I filter for Active Jobs it only shows the current backup that is in the Queued status.
I'm hopeful and fairly certain that this is a user error and has an easy fix, but as of yet have had no luck finding help with Google searches. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
BJ
