Apple Mac OSX (10.6) Sidebar Preference File

Hello,

The sidebar, in a Finder window, is as place holder/shortcut for various locations: DEVICES, SHARED, PLACES etc. Is there a preferences file that one can export to another computer to replicate a users sidebar on the new computer?

One of my users is being given a different Mac to use and the user would like to take all of his sidebar locations to the new Mac as he frequently visits these  locations many time during the day.

I have attached a pic of my sidebar just to clarify the term 'sidebar'.

Regards,
Robotiger.

There is an article here where it seems you can deploy a sidebar plist .. but it is not for the novice user

Hello Eoin,

I have exported the plist file successfully to another computer and it works fine. Thank you for pointing the correct file out :)

Thank you for your response and the subsequent link - much appreciated!
