The Mac recipient of my Outlook email message see's winmail.dat. attachment instead of my pdf document.

I am connected to Microsoft Exchange 2010, using Outlook 2010.

I am sending an email containing an Adobe PDF document to a client who has a Mac computer.  For some reason when he receives the email, he see's a winmail.dat file and not the PDF that I sent.

I sent the email in HTML format, and then again in Plain Text format, however, both times, he gets a winmail.dat file instead of the PDF.

What can be done to resolve this problem?

Thank you for your help!

I have tried sending the email in plain text - - but the mac recipient receives the attachment as winmail.dat

I have tried sending the email in HTML format - but the mac recipient receives the attachment as winmail.dat

I do not send email in rich text format.

It is not possible to create a gmail account just to send attachments to the mac recipient.  All client email must go through our Exchange Server and Outlook.
