IMAP to Exchange 2007 from Outlook 2016

Hi, I have an issue with my user sending and receiving from Outlook 2016.
Environment - Exchange 2007. Office 2016.  I know Outlook 2016 doesn't support Exchange 2007, so I am trying to setup IMAP for the user. I was been able to setup so the user can receive but it doesn't update or refresh with new mail and it cannot send.
I've followed several steps using either Port 25 or 587 for outgoing server, but still the user can't send. I have setup a Receive Connecter in Exchange 2007.  Here is the error that I receive when using Port 25 in Outlook. I have also attached  the settings in Exchange 2007 Receive Connector. I have restarted Exchange Transport service.

Thank.  The article you mentioned was the one we used when configuring the server and definitely helped us determine that the server was properly configured.  There was still some issues configuring Outlook 2016 but it's working now.
