How to Migrate or move mailboxes from an Exchange server to another?

Hello All,

What is the best and safer way to migrate Mailboxes from one exchange server to another? for instance from an Exchange 2007 .EDB to an Exchange 2010 or 2013 .EDB in the same domain.

Thanks.

Acquire very effective Exchange EDB to PST converter software which perfectly convert Exchange EDB file to PST file along with every emails properties. Using this converter program you can export Exchange mailbox data to outlook file and successfully restore recovered Exchange mailbox data to PST file in few clicks.

I would go for moving mailboxes using move request, new-moverequest, this way the user down time is minimal and the mailbox gets deleted from the old server only after it's being moved to the new one, outlooks will be auto configured to the new server, the users may work even while moving the mailboxes and will be notified to close and reopen the outlook to connect to the new server.
There are lots of articles over the internet on how to do this process depends on your destination Exchange version.

Good luck.

Open EMC in 2010 or EAC in 2013. Find the user, right click>select new local move request. Select db where you want to move. Click next and you are done. Rest Exchange will do it for you.
