Encoding MKV to MP4

Is anyone aware of a good encoding program that will allow conversion of MKV to MP4 in Mac OS, Windows or Linux?

second the suggestion for VLC!
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Hi  Bradley Dorrance,

You can use FFmpeg (https://www.ffmpeg.org/).

Converting video and audio has never been so easy.

ffmpeg -i inputVideo.mkv -vcodec copy -acodec copy outputVideo.mp4

Goodluck!
thanks for the link, ldvhai (what is your name?) -- will have to check that out! ... not now .. but sometime! I work a lot with video and audio.  So far VLC has done everything I need so I haven't needed more, but I haven't done any streaming (myself) so this link could be useful
