Unable to open visual studio 2008 projects after Win 10 upgrade
I just bought a new laptop with Win 7 Pro installed, and began the process of setting up everything just like I have it on my old Win 7 laptop. First I installed Visual Studio 2008 (which I have to use for my Windows CE projects) to see if my projects would still work right, and they did; everything looked normal and compiled properly.
So then I updated the new laptop to Windows 10. The problem is when I run Visual Studio 2008 and try to open one of those same projects that worked fine under Windows 7, I get this error:
Unable to read the project file 'escanSS.vbproj'.
C:\Users\Tim\Documents\Vis ual Studio
2008\Projects\ess\ess\esca nSS.vbproj (134,61): The imported
project
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\F ramework\v 3.5\Micros oft.Compac tFram
ework.VisualBasic.targets" was not found. Confirm that the path in the
<Import> declaration is correct, and that the file exists on the disk.
Any ideas how to fix this? TIA
