Can I have loopback and network support on the same machine. Where can I find this loopback driver for MSSQL? Does anyone have it and can anyone help on this one?

I could not understand the logic behind keeping 127.0.0.1 as loopback interface. What is special about this address. Why not something else like 127.0.0.2 or 128.0.0.1. Regards, Vimal
