Bios Problem
Hi,
When I start up my P.C it will not go into the operating system instead it says cmos setting wrong bios settings wrong can anyone help me with this please???

I would agree with cooker, till u change ur battery, log on into your BIOS setup define the Hard drive first, coz it is no more existing as there is no Battery, when you done save your BIOS setting and log out, good luck

What did you do prior to it giving you this error? That is have you changed any hardware ect. Dave
You can also try setting the bios settings to defualt. Generally all BIOS have a failsafe or default configuration. This will help if it is not a battery failure. Also can u tell the exact error message ??? and also what BIOS do u have??/

I have Win98 in my computer and everytime I turn it on asked my to press F1 so I go into CMOS setup and have to change the date on computer save it and it wwould let me continue but it is not the battery I already change it and still doing the same.

Another possibility is battery failure.
You need to get into the BIOS and check the settings out. Usually this is done by pressing the DEL key (this is the most common key for most systems, yours could differ) as soon as the screen flashes it's usual messages.
Once in the BIOS check the date. If it is 1980 then the problem is probably battery.
if it isn't date see if you can get the BIOS to check that your hard disk is there. If it can't find it then ...
