More bioI have been in IT since the early 80's covering multiple roles ranging from development / programming through field service, technical support and management. Organisations have included IBM, Microsoft and Novell at one end of the spectrum through to others that I would rather not admit to.
The architecture of things has been a key interest though over the years it has gone by many names.
For the last 14 years I have been at the UK Civil Aviation Authority where my job title shuffles between Enterprise Architect and head of Architecture.
Networking and security have been the mainstay and I have had a love affair with the Microsoft ISA and Forefront product set, the outcome of which has kept me at the #1 for this topic on Experts-Exchange for the past 9 years despite the fact that I have not got round to providing more than the odd solution in it for the past two.
I've been a Microsoft MVP for many years in a number of disciplines from Microsoft Architect, Microsoft Server & Networking and finally in Microsoft Forefront TMG and ISA Server products. My Cisco qualifications have all now lapsed but I've had most at one time or another as my interests (and job) changed direction.
Infrastructure, applications and data architecture is my bag but I am getting more involved with business architecture now as I find it fascinating.
Experts-Exchange has an Enterprise Architecture group which has just fired up at https://www.experts-exchange.com/groups/Enterprise-Architecture.html so if you are in a similar field - hit me up and see if we can help at all.
