MS Access Runtime 2010 with Access 2003 Pro

Hello,

I'm building an aplication in Access 2010 that I'd like to roll out to our network users through the use of Access 2010 runtime.

There is a risk however that some of the users machines already contain Access 2003, and they may be using databases on that platform which I wouldn't want to interfere with.

Is it possible to have both 2010 runtime and Access 2003 Full verstion co-existing on the same machine?

Thanks

Anything is possible...
;-)

If you search here you will see a lot of posts stating that this should be avoided.
The "runtime" is (for lack of a simpler explanation) is the full version of Access with "design View" disabled".
This means that some of the same issues associated with running two versions of Access can appear when you install a full version and a runtime of a different version on the same machine.

Of course, some people report no issues at all, so "Your Mileage May Vary"
;-)

Perhaps another Expert can contribute something more "technical"...

Just waiting to try this one ...
Just to update everybody - We've now tested this and it does work.

Had to try through trial and error as no technical contribution.
I'm confused...?

You accepted you post of: https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27788945/MS-Access-Runtime-2010-with-Access-2003-Pro.html?anchorAnswerId=38364395#a38364395
...as the solution, ...but no "solution" was mentioned...?

All you stated was:
"Just to update everybody - We've now tested this and it does work. "
What works?

Not really objecting here, but other members searching here for the same issue will see: "Just to update everybody - We've now tested this and it does work. "
...marked as the "solution", ...and wonder what the solution ultimately was...
