Calling all Novell experts

I have just installed Novell client 4.83 SP2 (I know 4.9 is out but for some stupid reason my manager won't let me use it) on XP Pro SP1, when I get to the Ctrl+Alt+Del screen and press them to get the login screen, the login screen takes ages to show up. Usually it comes up in secounds, but this one takes minites. Has anyone come accross this before?

In My Network Places Properties, select "Local Area Connection."

Click on Advanced menu>Select Advanced settings>Click on the Provider Order tab.

Click on Microsoft and then click the up-arrow button to move it above Novell on the list.

Click OK, then cancel.

Thanks Pete, but neither of them worked. I cannot get here >>Click on Advanced menu>Select Advanced settings>Click on the Provider Order tab. Where are you going to locate Advanced menu? The advanced menu I get (which I have to right click local area connection to bring up) is the XP firewall etc. I don't see the order tab anywhere, I know where the list of services and protocals are but I cant move the microsoft client up the list. Where am I going wrong?

Swapping then around in the regristry did not work either. The key you mention has also got WebClient and RDPNP. The key now looks like this after I swapped round LanmanWorkstation with NetwareWorkstation: LanmanWorkstation,WebClient,NetwareWorkstation,RDPNP.

Should I take out the WebClient and RDPNP?

ThanQ
Our facility is also having problems with a slow Novell login prompt screen coming up upon pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL.

We are using an HP Tablet PC with a internal 802.11a/b/g wireless adapter from HP. The OS is XP Tablet PC Edition and the Novell Client is v4.9 SP2.  Over the Wirless link the Novell login prompt takes up to 1.5 minutes to display.  When connected to the network via a wired connection on the same Tablet the login prompt displays in the proper amount of time; about 5-10 seconds.

I also have tried the recommended network setting changes with no resolution.  The connection of the tablet is fast itself once logged in; 54Mb/sec.

Any ideas on the issue here?
