SBS 2008 - Exchange - "550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.RecipNotFound; not found" (relates to previous qeustion regarding POP3 connector)

This is a follow on from...

https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26602117/SBS-2008-POP3-Connector-breaks-when-changing-users-return-address.html

A recap...
CompanyA -> parent company holding the domain companyA.com
CompanyB -> co-lo subsiduary company running SBS 2008
All staff from CompanyB should have someone@CompanyA.com email addresses
CompanyB is using the POP3 connector to receive emails.
Emails to companyB would fail with...
(Event 203 : "An error occurred while delivering mail to 'someone@companyA.com' on the SMTP server 'localhost'. The error code was 0x800ccc69. Verify that the mailbox exists and that the Exchange receive connectors are configured properly.")

This was fixed this by adding companyA.com to the "Authorative Accepted Domain" list but now emails sent from someone at Company B can't get through to Company A due to a
"550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.RecipNotFound; not found" error.

So are there any other ways for companyB to send and receive as companyA using the POP3 connector?

If you make a new contact in Exchange 2007 on SBS  (Pointing at email address on company A) does it work then?
If so you can just forward all emails.
Because SBS cannot have a trust relation ship with another domain this could prove complicated.
Really need to examine the DNS reports of both organisations for starters.
