Exchange 2010 server health - what should I be doing, I am getting errors from GFI

On an SBS 2011 box, what maintenance should I be doing on the Exchange part of the machine?

This became a pressing issue this morning when people started opening outlook and getting 'trying to connect to Exchange' and then showing 'disconnected'.  But mail was coming in, going to their phones and OWA was working.

Now, with GFI, an RMM tool, I am getting a bunch of messages like:

The test Windows Service Check - Microsoft Exchange File Distribution failed.
Additional information : Unable to connect to service manager

The test Windows Service Check - Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Assistants failed.
Additional information : Unable to connect to service manager

The test Windows Service Check - Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology failed.
Additional information : Unable to connect to service manager

The test Windows Service Check - Microsoft Exchange Information Store failed.
Additional information : Unable to connect to service manager

But people aren't complaining about outlook.  (there's only 10 users so that's not a lot of users to be loading down the server.

thanks!
