Folder Redirection - Icons rearrange with auto arrange disabled.
I have configured users' desktop folders to be redirected to a SBS2008 server.
Even though we advise against it, many times users save data on their desktops that they would not want to lose, with roaming profiles logon/logoff times are slow due to the amount of data being synced, it also seems to increase the size of block-level incremental backups as more data gets changed on the disk with a sync than when the data "lives" on the server.
A complaint with folder redirection is that desktop icons get auto arranged even with the auto arrange option disabled, users like to customize their desktops to suit their workflow.
My understanding is this is by design.
Does anyone have ideas on how to have folder redirection but address the auto arrange issue?

Thanks for the scripts, that may be helpful if i can have it run at logoff/logon when they are not signing in via RDP.
