FreeBSD 7.0 not running GUI nor user (root only login)

my latest shot at this:  http://www.monkeyview.net/id/965/fsck/fb7/kde/index.vhtml
I tried pkg_add -r kde.  Something is seriously wrong with some VisualOS thing, but
I WAS running gnome 2 on freeBSD 6.3 and then I did cvsup by just changing the place
in the supfile where it said RELENG_6_3 to RELENG_7 that seemed to work had a little
mishap at "make installworld" but fixed that by using /usr/src/usr.sbin/mergemaster/mergemaster.sh
and was able to finish all the steps make buildworld thru make delete-old-libs but mergemaster
acted in a similar fashion that seems bad:

tons and tons of prompting but I got through it (for the umpteenth time) .  The problem I
want fixed here is to get my GUI back.  I also lost my "kayve" user I have to log on as
root.  I haven't checked the filesystem (I mean to see if /usr/home/kayve is still there), and right now I have swapped out my HD on this ASUS laptop http://www.monkeyview.net/id/965/fsck/dmesg/index.vhtml
So it is not immediately availible right now.  I NEED TO GET MY GUI BACK WITH NESSUS RUNNING
PRONTO!
