Windows Parser message

I have a Toshiba Notebook, running Windows XP.  It is very slow to start up, and will not allow me to log in to any of my user accounts. Upon logging in to a user account, it simply logs back off and returns to the log in screen. I have tried to log in as an admin in safe mode and it does the same thing. I get the following errors.

Parser Message: Value creation failed at line 903
Parser Message: Value creation failed at line 422
Windows Virtual memory is too low: Windows tries to increase it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If nothing works, you are probably stuck with a parallel (to backup data) or a clean install.

The Pagefile.sys file of your operating system seems to be damaged.

The good news is that you can fix this file. Here is what you need to do.

Boot the system using the XP CD,

Push R on the first screen to enter the Recovery console.

Type CD \ and press Enter.

2. Type copy c:\boot.ini pagefile.sys and press Enter.

3. Type del pagefile.sys and press Enter.

Then Type
1)  d:     Press enter  (Where D is the drive letter for your CD)

2) cd i386  Press enter

3) expand userinit.ex_ c:\windows\system32  Press Enter

Well so far guys, nothing has worked. I am still not able to get into the system. The repair console is password protected (Staples did that) and the guys at staples have been no help in getting me the correct password to get in to the recovery console.

At this point the only alternative I have is to do a hard format and start over but I am hoping to avoid it.
You mean you can't do a "R" for repair install?  Try this -- boot from the CD, and don't use the "Repair console" that is too hard for most people to figure out anyway.  Boot from CD and press enter, as if you are going to install the OS all over again, and get through the F8 screen.  Now when it finds your existing installation -- C:\WINDOWS on the screen, that is the point you press "R" to repair that installation -- and it will usually fix a problem like this.  It just basically refreshes all the OS files to new, and fixes some things like swap files.

Don't press enter at that point, as that will wipe out your install completely !!!  Just press "R" to repair the install, and it usually works well.  After that, you will have to reinstall Service pack 1 (available from MS site), but that isn't too hard, and you might fix everything.
You should be able to access the Repair Console by using the password for the default system administrator account on the machine.

I did all of the above, still did not work , so I deleted  all of the dll files in the system32 folder, reinstalled Windows XP Home and now the machine runs like a dream instead of a nightmare
