Admin password -Safe mode on WIN2000 Server

If I boot in true Safe Mode on a WIN 2000 server and it comes to the logon box, do I have to know the "local" Administrator password for that machine to logon locally?

I can't logon using network support to get to the domain Admin so I have to use regular safe mode.

What do I do other than using a utility to get the local admin password.

You can logon as any user, but you will not have the Admin priveleges..  but you can try logging in as Domain Admin, with their credentials..

To get the admin password to a Server, it is a little tricky...  There are utilities to do this using the LM hash database, but in W2K3 server, these are turned off by default...  I believe...  It is a more security consious system....

What are the indications of the problem...??  Will your server not boot into normal mode?

See this post:

Didn't want to ask 2 questions in the same post.

I can't boot to normal. The one time I got it to boot to Safe with no network support it brought me to the logon box.
From there I wasn't able to gain access with any domain logins and I don't know the Admin local login.

I need to get in to delete files to make space for the OS to boot.
