Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini
Morning,
I keep getting the folloing error when users are logging in
Event: 1030, Source: Userenv, Description: Windows cannot query for the list of GPO
&
Event: 1058, Source: Userenv, Description: Windows canot access the file gpt.ini for GPO cn=(C4DABF84-0AE8-4878-8D2 8-AA01EB8E E764),cn=p olicies,cn =system,DC =xxx,DC=Lo cal the file must be present at the location <\\xxx.local\sysvol\xxx.lo cal\polici es\(C4DABF 84-0AE8-48 78-8D28-AA 01EB8EE764 )\gpt.ini> the network name cannot be found. GP processing aborted.
I present I have 2 DC's NTDS replication is fine but FRS is currently turned off as the last time it was turned on it deleted my sysvol folder on my only fully working DC and did not recreate therefore I had to restore the system state from backup. My secound DC is unable to create a sysvol as it keeps coming up with the following error
Event: 13565, Source: NTFRS, Description: FRS is initializing the sys vol with data from another domain controller, Computer xxxxx cannot become a DC until this process is complete. The sys vol will then be shared.
I belive there is a registy entry which delete the local sysvol if out of date, I belive this is turned on my only DC with a valid sysvol, but can remember where to check.
Any assistance would be great
Thank
Garry
