Secure aDSL Modem / Router selection
I am looking for a secure aDSL router for a small installation (4 PC / 1 Srv), but which has to be very secure. Server and clients are WinXP. The server would be file sharing and MySQL database server, and all incoming ports except necessary ones would be blocked with network interface TCP/IP filtering.
I was thinking about using: http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/BEFVP41
Is the selection OK? - Any other suggestions? Security practices?
Thank you very much.

Well, I would like to avoid products that are known to be unsafe.
The company in question is a small (4 clients/ 1 server) law firm with a relatively limited budget, but with rather high security requirements. I would try to do my best with XP server / XP network, by securing everything as much as possible with the given system.
As the server will be behind a router, theoretically a person could break in through router, and to the server, stealing documents.
I would just like to avoid that, so apart from good router selection, it would be nice if you would share good security ideas and practices.
Thank you.

This is very helpful, thank you very much!
any particular requirements?
we can't say a product is secure without knowing specific requirements.
