Fatal error: Allowed memory size of X bytes exhausted (tried to allocate X bytes) in zip.php on line 310
Hi there,
I have a new installation of Joomla on my server and I'm trying to install the Blue Flame Forms component from phil-taylor.com
I've installed this many times before on other accounts, but since I downloaded the latest version all I get is this when trying to install:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 524288000 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2096427 bytes) in /home/myaccount/public_htm l/librarie s/joomla/f ilesystem/ archive/zi p.php on line 310
As you can see - the allowed memory size is not the problem, as I set it to 500MB just to test (as I read this somewhere).
What can I do to solve this?
I see there is a similar question at https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23587983/Allowed-memory-size-of-12582912-bytes-exhausted.html which was of little help.

I know this isn't an exact answer to your question, but I have used this component for multiple sites without fault: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/contacts-&-feedback/forms/4939/details

Thanks j-b-t. The Manual Install option worked - and the details are here:

I'm on the same server as before. If it happens again I'll be sure to check the global config options, although I'm sure uploading a 2MB file would be fine, but stranger things have happened! Many thanks for the response.
