AppSense Environment Manager - quickest way to migrate reg data from MS Office app group into Session Data

Hi, we have a hundred users in our Citrix XenApp 6 environment and they all have AppSense Environemnt Manager profiles.  When setting up the config of EM many months ago, I mistakenly put the reg key for Outlook profiles, i.e.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem

into my 'Microsoft Office' application group, rather than putting it into Session Data.  The effect of this is that other programs (anything that has a "send as email" option) cannot find the mail profile, and so doesn't work properly.  I've tested putting this into Session Data and it works.  I should have read the manual at the beginning, because it says this about Outlook in there.

Anyway, I now have a hundred users when their 'Windows Messaging Sybsystem' data is in an app group 'Microsoft Office' where it should be in 'Session Data'.

Do you know if there's a quick way of migrating this reg key from one to another, for all users?  I can do it for one quite easily using reg export/import, but doing this for 100 users would be a nightmare.

I was looking at using the EMP Registry Utility

EXPORT <user> <group> <app> <key> <file>
then
IMPORT <user> <group> <app> <file>

but I don't know if I can use 'Session Data' in the <app> place.  Also, I don't know how I can script it to work for all users in AppSense, or all users inside a certain AD group.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

In your AppSense installation, you should have a number of PDF files. One is called "AppSense Environment Manager Administrative Tools Guide". Open this and look up a utility called "Extract Session Data Utility". I think this may do the trick, if I am understanding you correctly.

If you don't have this PDF let me know and I will see if I can send you a copy.

Cheers,

Wow, thanks a lot for that!  Perfect.  The only thing is, I can't find a Tools folder in my Start Menu under AppSense -> Environment Manager.  All I have here is the Environment Manager and the Personalization Server Config.  I don't seem to have any of these tools installed.  And I don't remember being given to install them when I installed the Suite either, else I would have put them on.

I'm running EM v8.2.206.0

Any idea where these might be?

Thanks.
From the PDF

The Administrative Tools installer is included with the Environment Manager installation
media. The Configuration Assistant installer is separate but is found in the same location.
For both installers, 32 and 64-bit versions are available:
¿ EnvironmentManagerTools32
¿ EnvironmentManagerTools64
¿ ConfigurationAssistant32
¿ ConfigurationAssistant64
Once installed to the default location, the tools are available from the Start > All Programs
> AppSense > Environment Manager > Tools menu. The Configuration Assistant is
available from Start > All Programs > AppSense > Environment Manager menu.

What a great little utility!  And what a great blog entry!  Thanks for your help - that's worked nicely.
