Maxtor One touch access

Hello,

I am having trouble accessing my Maxtor One touch external hard drive.  Whenever I try to change anything on the drive I get an "access denied" message.  I have tried the "right-click", uncheck the "read-only" box, but this does not work.  There is no security tab when I right click on any of the folders in the Maxtor Hard drive either.  Any suggestions on how to change the access privileges to my external hard drive.

did you use a password?
or is the disc encrypted ?

or maybe you just need to take ownership of the files ?

ASKER

The OS is Windows XP home edition and the file system is NTFS.  There is an admin. password for the disk drive.
did you try the links?
Does the hard drive have a lock switch on it?
I tried the links...the problem with the first link is that I don't get a "security" tab when I right-click...the problem with the second link is that I don't get an "E" in the attribute column but an "A"

also, the hard drive does not have a lock switch...
Does it ask for the password?
yes, there is a password; however, i am asked the password to enter the drive but not to make changes.
can you delete the password?
I don't think so, but I will try through the admin interface....
I could not delete the password.  I have the Linksys Network Storage Link as well.
