If you have taken the plunge and are moving to the 64 Bit version of Office 2016 please be aware that as of 28 March 2017, Spreadsheet Compare 2016 will not work. It works fine in the 32 bit version but breaks when moving to 64 bit.
After hours of trial and error and searching the web, I found that many people have experience the problem but no one had a solution. I opened a ticket with Microsoft and within a few days they were able to present me with a reg key that fixes the issue. So I thought I would share it here.
Here is the reg key information:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity]
"EnableADAL"=dword:00000000
