Experts Exchange expands question security options for members.

Have you wanted to ask a question on site that’s only available to the community, but still links to your profile so you can engage with other tech experts? You’re in luck. The Private Question feature is back by popular demand, to expand on our existing question security options.

Exclusive for Premium Members, Team Accounts, and Qualified Experts, Private Question is now available in the drop-down menu located at the bottom of the question form. Current question security options include:

  • Public: The question can be found in an online search, viewed by people who aren’t members of Experts Exchange.
  • Private Question: The question is only available to Experts Exchange members, while still linking to your profile.
  • Anonymous Question: The question is only available to Experts Exchange members, and any links to the user's profile are hidden for anonymity.

The default security setting for every question is “public” in order to help our community members build connections with other technology users on subjects of great interest and importance to their work and careers. With the addition of the Private Question and Anonymous Question features, however, Premium Members, Team Accounts, and Qualified Experts are not tied to the public option and can adjust each question’s security.

Before submitting your question, you simply choose the level of security you’d like it to have.

The re-release of Private Question follows a long line of feature updates and releases created to help community members like you personalize your question experience on our site. Controlling the setting for each question allows you to use your membership benefits in ways that best meet your individual needs.
