Write Articles 9,000+ PTS
When members write articles, points are awarded based on the quality of the article. Once the article is submitted, there are three status levels you can achieve: Accepted, Approved, Awarded. Through each status, the user can earn 3,000+ points. Additionally, the user can earn more points after the article has been submitted.
- 1 point per view
- 100 points per endorsement
- 1,000 points when used on solution
Before you begin, follow these Article Guidelines for tips on making a comprehensive article that will help educate other members—and also earn you points.
In this stage of the process, Experts Exchange editors review your article. If they accept and publish it, it will be live and accessible within the community.
Your article reaches the Approved status and earns you an extra 3,000 points—when it gains either Community Pick accolades or Editor's Choice. Community Pick means the article receives 15 endorsements from the community, while Editor’s Choice means site editors think the article is an exceptional submission and recognize it accordingly.
If your article obtains both Community Pick accolades and Editor’s Choice at the same time, it reaches the Awarded status and an extra 3,000 points.

Test Bugs 500 PTS
Find a bug and earn points for your discovery. Each bug reported on a project can earn you anywhere between 20 and 500 points. When you help fix the bug, 500 additional points may be rewarded for the most helpful testers at the end of the project.
Once you choose a project:
- You’ll need to enter a short, descriptive title and your report.
- Make sure you review the project description and testing details to ensure your bug report is what the project owner is looking for. Include the steps you took when you encountered the bug so the project owner can track down your report. You can attach screen shots if that is helpful.
- Once you click “Submit”, the bug will be posted to the project page, and the project owner will get an email notification about the new bug. If the project owner comments on the bug, you’ll get an email letting you know.
