In the CompTIA Cloud+ Advanced training course, participants will learn about testing, tools, security, controls, recovery, and availability.
This course will start with troubleshooting in the cloud, techniques for testing, and tools you can use for troubleshooting. This includes ping, traceroute, NSlookup and more. We will go through each of these TCP/IP utilities to show the functionality they provide. This is imperative for your understanding so you can diagnose and solve cloud related problems. From there, we’ll look into additional troubleshooting tools, including address resolution protocol (ARP), telnet, SSH, Windows Powershell, and the importance of documentation for troubleshooting.
Next, we’ll discuss security and controls, starting with best practices for network security, auditing, using layered security approach, the importance of hardening both guest virtual machines as well as host hypervisors, and penetration testing.
Then, we’ll discuss data security, starting with basic concepts like authentication and authorization into additional security mechanism. This includes implementing confidentially through encryption and verifying data integrity using digital signatures.
You’ll learn about access controls and the various methods used, such as role-based access control (RBAC), discretionary access control (DAC), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and single sign-on (SSO).
Lastly, we’ll learn about recovery and availability, starting with how to develop a disaster recovery plan. We’ll end with how to configure high availability.
If you have not done so, it is recommended you take
CompTIA Cloud+ - Part 1 Basic and
CompTIA Cloud+ - Part 2 Intermediate prior to taking this course.
